Leashore Gone Wild...II

On January 29th, City Councilman Johnnie Leashore was stopped by City Police for going 103 MPH ON CITY STREETS and for NOT having a drivers license in his possession.

ANYONE ELSE would have had to pay this ticket for RECKLESS DRIVING AND NOT HAVING A LICENSE, BUT NOT LEASHORE. For a month now, he and Police Chief Jimmy Martin have been trying to get this ticket "fixed"...so far they have been unsuccessful. but Martin continues to pressure the officer, who gave the ticket, to void it for Leashore.
On February 27th, Leashore was suppose to appear in City Court, but did not appear. MOST PEOPLE would have had a warrant issued for Failure to Appear..but not the Councilman. He didn't come because he thought Martin had taken care of the ticket for him, but so far, Officer Jason Whitt, who issued the ticket, has REFUSED to recommend that the ticket be voided.
IF Whitt does not fold, a court date will be set where Leashore will have to appear and plead guilty or not guilty and have a date set for his trial.
We have some advice for all of those involved in this sordid mess:
To Officer Whitt: You are about 21 years old and have been with the Police Department only a few months. You are well aware of how crooked Police Chief Jimmy Martin is! If you give in to his pressure, the next time you may be asked to close your eyes to a drug deal or the placement of a gun by a supposed shooter or who knows what else. THEY WILL OWN YOU ONCE YOU COMPROMISE YOUR VALUES AND PRINCIPLES. Remember how disrespectful Leashore was to you the night you rightly gave him a ticket. IF HE GETS AWAY WITH THIS, HE MAY KILL SOMEONE THE NEXT TIME HE WANTS TO DRIVE OVER 100 MILES PER HOUR ON CITY STREETS! Is any job worth selling out your SOUL for? Keep a record of each time Martin or anyone else tries to pressure you to do wrong. If you need legal help, let us know and we will provide it for you. BE A MAN, DO WHAT IS RIGHT, DON'T CAVE IN!
To Chief Martin: You are a sorry individual who is unfit to be Chief of a Police Department. Anyone who will try to get his officers to lie and sign off on something they know is wrong is unworthy to be a police officer, much less the Chief of Police. Trying to fix this ticket for Leashore is just another reason you should be fired immediately.
To Mayor Perkins: You think that like Pilate you can wash your hands of this crooked mess, BUT Pilate could not and neither can you. Police Chief Jimmy Martin is yours and yours alone. You put him there and you are the only one keeping him there. If you fix this ticket for your flunkie Leashore, we of this Neighborhood Association tell you that every person in this State will know about the crooked city government in Selma, Alabama.
To Councilman Leashore: How about explain to the people of Selma why you have to drive recklessly on city streets at 103 mph and why you did not have a drivers license. Any one of us would have to pay our ticket. Why are you so special that you are above the law? As you rip-off the taxpayers of Selma $14,500 as a council member and another illegal $25,500 from the Water Board, you can well afford to pay your ticket.
To City Judge Prince Chestnut: We hope you do not begin your tenure as a City Judge by dismissing a reckless driving and no license ticket against a City Council Member! If there is to be justice, everyone, council member and begger alike, must be treated equally before the Court. TREAT LEASHORE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE; if he is guilty, fine him, if he is not guilty, let him go, BUT DON'T SIMPLY DISMISS THIS VERY SERIOUS CHARGE OF RECKLESS DRIVING AGAINST HIM.
To The People Of Selma: HOW MUCH LONGER ARE WE GOING TO PUT UP WITH THE ANTICS OF LEASHORE AND CRENSHAW??
