A CHANGE IN ATTITUDE

It's interesting how people can change their attitude in a heartbeat depending on who is around and what is going on.
On Monday, we received an e-mail stating that there were to be three groups of people at the Selma City Council Meeting. One group was to be there to "Take Back City Government" and return the power to it's people. One group was supposed to be there in support of the Council "As Is", corrupt and ignorant members included. And lastly, a group outside to pray during the Council Meeting.
After reading this, we had to tune in and listen. Apparently, the group for the prayer was out in numbers, as was the group to "Take Back City Government". But where was the group that stated our government was fine "as is"? The truth: there is no group supporting our current government, The King or his Court, which was made QUITE clear by the turn out at the Council Meeting. As we listened, Councilman Cain made an annoucement stating that Leashore nor Crenshaw could have a vote on a motion they were discussing. What happened next was glorious. The crowd burst into applause and had to be quieted by President Evans. But we noticed something during the silence afterward. Leashore and Crenshaw seemed to have lost their tongues. Where were their usual snyde remarks and ignorant statements? Where were their cries of racism? Where were the accusations that the other council members were out to get Mayor Perkins?
We think the remarks were kept inside for a number of reasons:
1. The MASSIVE failure of their support from the community.
2. The MASSIVE TURNOUT of the supposed opposition.
3. Maybe they were just confused by the fact that everyone at the meeting understood "orderly conduct";
a concept they have yet to grasp.
The fact remains that, hopefully, they have learned how LITTLE support they have and how tired the citizens are of this once great city being governed by evil intentions. Humiliation, Retaliation, Retributions, Cronism, Special Agendas - to mention just a few.
