SHOTS IN THE DARK
1-23-07

Crime is down and the police department, under Martin's leadership, is doing a great job. Tell this to the family on 5th Ave that has several bullet holes in their house. One of the shots thru a mattress a child was asleep on.

On January 14th, 2007, between 11pm and 12am, several shots were fired into a residence on 5th Ave. The police were called and officer Johnson responded. He was informed, by the victim, of the person's name who committed the act. He stated that he could not do anything and that she couldn't sign a warrant because she didn't have the assailants DATE OF BIRTH AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!

Crazy? You bet it is!

Imagine this: As you are chasing a person with a gun, you are asking, "Sir, I know you shot through my house. Could you give me some information so I can have you arrested?"

Do situations like this make anyone feel uneasy about some operations in our police department?

The victims later went to officer Neely for help. He stated he didn't have enough information to do anything. He would continue the investigation.

It has been stated that under Martin's control, the police personnel are encouraged NOT to file a report on minor offenses and only on the larger offenses when the public finds out and it starts being questioned.

This website feels that crime is totally out of control, contrary to information from the mayor, police chief, and the Selma Times-Journal.

Just as you should be very cautious of the facts on this website (we have been proven credible), you should be EXTREMELY cautious at believing the information thrown out by Perkins, Martin, and their most loyal supporter, the Selma Times-Journal.

The news given by the average citizen appears to be more credible than local political information.
