sold my cadillac today.
it was due to be collected this morning from the farm where i store it. Got there at 10.30 to give it a wash and brush up and a final drive round the block.
waited and waited for the truck to arrive. didn't mind the wait too much though, it was a nice enough afternoon, there was a wedding happening over the road to watch, lots of the wedding party stopped to admire my car and talk to me about it. cleaned my car. read my book. had a cup of tea with the farmers wife.
the truck arrived about 4.30. i was still in fine spirits. they handed over an envelope of cash and loaded my caddy onto their truck.
my caddy. not my caddy anymore. got home and had a little sob. silly, but true. feel a little bit emotional about it not being my caddy anymore.
have to keep remembering that it's gone to a good home and it'll be restored all nice and pretty.
