Nick in La place des Vosges, which is a square made of and surrounded entirely by the houses in this picture. It's an old part of town that very wealthy French people used to live in, and I'm sure still do. The inside of the square is symmetrical lawns and fountains with a statue in the middle.
The statue in the middle of the square.
This is a pillar in the middle of the street near the site where the Bastille used to stand. The pillar is either commemorating those who stormed it or those who died in the French Revolution.
This is the opera house we went to. We were all the way on the top while the stage was all the way on the bottom. It gives a really good view of the city, though, since most of the buildings in Paris are very low.
I just thought this building was a cool shape and it was called Cafe Francais.
These were taken later, but on the same day as the earlier pictures. The weather was fine in the morning, as you can see, but a large amount of FOG seemed to settle in as soon as I went to see the Eiffel Tower... so I only got to see part of it...
There were no lines to get to the top, but it cost $10, we clearly wouldn't be able to see anything and it would have been freezing anyway, so we didn't go to the top of that landmark.
There were lots of shady people around us trying to sell things. We kept a close eye on our possessions. But it was still very pretty and Nick knew how to tell them to go away in French.
A ridiculous picture of me.
