Nancy specializes in public relations for technology companies, focusing on
network communications. She has more than 20 years of marketing and PR
experience in technology-related fields and has been an independent
consultant since 1991.
She has directed the PR launch of several companies, including Blaze
Network Products, Cobalt Networks, Infoseek and Terisa Systems, and was a
core member of the launch team for Vicinity Corporation and the CommerceNet
consortium. CommerceNet was the first large-scale trial of electronic
commerce on the Internet.
Before starting her own PR consulting practice, she was a senior account
executive at The Benjamin Group. There, she worked with Ampex Corp., Valid
and Integrated Measurement Systems.
Earlier, she was employed at Hewlett-Packard Company where she was press
relations manager for the Test and Measurement marketing organization for
three years. Her responsibilities included setting PR program objectives
for the business unit and enhancing product publicity programs for its 15
Her other HP experience includes more than two years as assistant editor of
the Hewlett-Packard Journal, a technical publication for customers, and as
editor of a product newsletter.
She came to HP from Stanford University, where she worked for four years on
campus energy conservation. Her primary responsibility was to carry out a
publicity campaign to increase campus awareness about energy use and
conservation. Before joining Stanford, she was a research analyst on
energy-related projects for SRI International.
