Descendants of Alfred and Jane Elias Mitchell

Alfred and Jane Elias Mitchell had five children. They were:

William John Mitchell was born in 1890 at Glamorgan County, Wales. He left home early and the family does not know what became of him.

Pauline Mitchell was born in Pennsylvania. She married W. A. Hubbard. She died in Kansas City, Kansas in 1917. They had no children

Margaret Mitchell was born in 1894 at Florence, Colorado. She married O. M Blaydes in 1919. He was a banker in Kansas City, Kansas. They had no children.

George Mitchell was born in Springfield, Illinois in 1895. He married Bettie Gelven in 1916. They are pictured above. George was a railroad man, working for the Santa Fe. He converted to Catholicism when he married his wife. In the 1960s they were living in Arkansas City, Missouri. They had one child, Elizabeth “Bessie” Geneva Mitchell, who was born in 1917 at Kansas City, Kansas. She married Robert Edward Whistler (b. 1911) in 1936. They had three children, Robert Mitchell Whistler (b. 1937), who married Linda Focht in 1960, Lehman Paul Whistler (b. 1938), who married Joyce Ellen Newman in 1964 and Viva Louise Whistler (B. 1939), who married Ralph Chesney in 1957.

Arthur Mitchell was born in 1897 at Prairie, Arkansas. He married Agnes Richman. They had three children. He died in Joliet, Illinois in 1968.
