Place of birth: In the '90s punk-pop scene
Famous for: No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls
Aussie stats: WARNING - band on the rise!
They started out as a pack of bratty 13-year-olds playing in their garage - and that's enough of a pedigree to make Simple Plan stand out from the pack. After all, everyone knows if you get into punk rock that early, you're bound to be a step ahead for life.
Early on, before the band was even called what's it known as today, members toured their homeland Canada with such modern punk legends as MXPX and Ten Foot Pole.
Then came the band we know today, with poppy punk songs inspired by everyone from Pennywise to the Beach Boys. True!
And while that combination of influences might sound strange, it's totally effective - for Simple Plan has come to be known for expertly crafted tunes that totally rock the house. Check them out on the album No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls - a record with one of the best titles of all time!
