  CLEVEKEYS

Song list             Email me: clevekeys@yahoo.com

These were done first take. And I couldn't balance too well because the fostex does not let you do that easily. Also I was using a Yamaha S03 for keys. Notice on some the piano sound is really good and others a little cheesy. It actually had to do with the mode used on the fostex. Extended mode just does not cut it. But normal gobbles the memory. And that Yamaha has no weight to the keys. It is touch sensitive but no weight. Really makes it hard to play. I did not use a click track. Next time I will. Or gets some decent drum loops. But they are so much work. And the acoustic was an old epiphone with a cheap pickup. Bass always straight in. No editing. Balanced the best I could but with the fostex you sort of have to guess. And when I was singing I was also playing an instrument at the same time. It would have taken forever to overdub each one separately.

And try to listen to these with good headphones. You really can't hear the bass that well otherwise.

SOME MORE NEW ONES. Completed on May 8, 2005. I really don't finger pick that well. I really would like to convince some like Mudcat T. Bass to do these.

it's Such a Shame
If You were near Me

SOME NEW ONES. Completed on April 17, 2005. Well not really complete. Still a lot to do.

Blind Vision
If you Think of it
Going Away

Here is a new one. It ended up completely differently that what I envisioned. It reminds of something Richard Harris(??) would have done. I would orchestrate it much differently if I had a better studio. It could use a power ballad guitar in the background. On this I used bass, piano, strings and vocals and the balancing was terrible. And again it is so hard to play the yamaha. I need weighted keys. Sounds LLoyd Weber(??) Yes the strings are a little much. Or are they?

If You Think About It

 Here's a couple more songs I wrote:

 We're Through
Rock Springs
November First

Here I am singing Get Back with a band and playing keys.

Get Back

Here is a compilation of excerpts from a live gig.

Excerpts

On these I am singing, playing keys and bass.

Hey Jude
For No One
Your Song

On these I am playing keys. These are from a live gig. Not on the fostex. Just two mikes in front.

Keys Superstitious
Strings on Every Breath
Keys on Pretzel Logic

On these I am playing all the parts. The fostex is ok but again it is difficult to get the right balance.

Come Together
You Won't See Me
Route 66
Sympathy
I'm a Man
(funky)

Here is another I wrote. The words are not all complete. I love the whole drone sitar thing in this one. Can you guess the tuning.

Slippin Away

Here are a couple of piano pieces I wrote. I again played all the parts. That yamaha is to hard play. Got to get something else. Nice tones but no weight. And the short one is an experiment in the midi world.

Blind Vision (Hey, it was all one take)
Schoen
(If Beethoven had midis!)
