Hullo fellow Sean fans! As you can guess, I'm new to this site but simply couldn't wait to ask; who on Earth started that ridiculous rumour about Sean having a fiancee? Or am I at fault? Have I not researched enough? Is he actually to be wed (it would break my heart, I dare say, but would be worth it to know)? Please, could one of you all-knowing super fans be so kind as to either dispel or affirm this rumour; it would mean a great deal to me (I know there is some unwritten policy that we shouldn't talk about his personal life but come on...married?!). Hi Alexandra! Actually, to tell you the truth, it was sort of Sean himself that started it!!! One of the awesome regulars on the boards (Penny) asked him (as a joke) if he's marry her so she could get Scottish (British) citizenship, and he said he's only marry her so he could get Canadian citizenship. So we made a bunch of jokes about it, and somehow it got past our site here and onto the web, where many fangirls proceeded to flip out.... but it's not true, just a little personal board jokes here!

But it's nice to see someone who finally just asks outright about rumours, and doesn't flip out and insult us all. nice to see you here, hope you stick around!

My god...if you read the song of sorting hat more carefully, you'll find something hidden within the song...the ideal of hogwarts is...WITHOUT HOUSES!!! The ideal was, that there would be no houses...everyone would live together in harmony...imagine Hogwarts without houses...I think that's something that will be continued in future books...

I thought that the Hat's message was that all the houses should stay together! mmmph Must read that part again...

Actually I always thought that the idea of the Houses was a bit silly, I mean, I know the hat can read the minds and everything but just how can he be so sure if someone is cleverer then he's brave, or more loyal then cunning?

In PS we read that the hat had trouble placing Harry, and in OotP Hermione said that the Hat considered puting her in Ravenclaw, who says that the Hat didn't have trouble with the rest of the students?

There are some people who (in my opinion)have characteristics from more then two houses. Like Fred and George, who could do well in Slytherin -before anyone jump in my throat let me just say that no all the Slytherins are evil but yes, all the evil guys are from Slytherin- back to the twins, they are very cunning and sly. Hermione is the most obvious example, she's bookish enough to be a Ravenclaw. Ron is very loyal, he could do well in hufflepuff, but it's also very ambitious (he wants to exceed all his brothers, and if that's not ambitious I don't know what is). And the list could go on and on.

And besides, people change you know, you can be loyal at the age of eleven but that doesn't mean you'll stay that way forever. Some experiences, or even the time itself can make you change over the years.

Well, I took it in a sense, it doesn't really matter if people think you don't 'suit' the house you're in. It's just like football clubs - why do some people support a particular club and suchlike? If you think of the Houses as just an incentive for students to behave well and gain points, then it doesn't matter if you're a Gryffindor that doesn't act like one. That's where you were sorted, and that's the House you support.

And if there were no Houses...how boring.

Maybe I wasn't very clear, I think the way to sort people in different Houses is a bit silly. I understand that there has to be Houses in order to get the students to compete among them, but honestly, "bravery" "intelligence" "loyalty" and "cunning" are not very clear standard

Aye that she is.

I think the point of the houses is that people are similar to the people around them, because thats how is began. When Hogwarts was founded they were taught by the founders who valued certain aspects of character. However, a thousand years later, it can be seen that people aren't all black and white, and that you don't necessarily get on best with the people who are most like you. For example, Ron, Harry and Hermione are VERY different people, despite the fact that they are all in Gryffindor.

I think the point Jake is trying to make is that some traditions are outdated, and that you shouldn't base your opinions of people on simply one aspect of their character as you may miss out on other prominent features and it may also create eminity and segregation between people who should technically be united.

And also, with regards to Hermione, she should dellyfelly be a Gryffindor. I know she is very intelligient, but she is a Gryffindor for the same reason as Harry, because she chose to be. She values Gryffindor qualities more than Ravenclaw ones, and thats why she's a Gryffindor. And I quote "Me, books, cleverness? There are more important things. Friendship and bravery"

Maybe the Sorting Hat was calling for no houses...I sorta thought that the DA kinda formed a foundation for what the Sorting Hat was asking for in the beginning without anyone realizing it...I mean, there were people from 3 of the four houses, only Slytherin was left out...but they leave people out...so I dunno...could it be a beginning to unity? Who knows, maybe that kid who can see thestrals in Harry's Care for Magical Creatures class will be the first slytherin to join the DA next book...I'm not the author, I dunno...maybe they won't need a DA...or maybe Dumbledore will teach it...or Snape...?

Jen, they're talking about 'The Winter Guest', a film that Sean was in. 'It's burnin'! It's burnin'! My penis is on fire!' is one of the lines that Sean had to say. Probably one of the more memorable lines from that film, actually...

I suggest you rent (or buy it) to see what we're talking about it. It's quite interesting.

I go to an all girls' school as well, and stuff like that is totally run of the mill there. Well, at least among my circle of friends. Some people used to (okay, some people are me and my friend Qate, and we still do) throw tampons at people in assembly, then invite our guy friends to school and ride around on their backs and we use "penis" instead of cool...

Anyway - I've seen the movie. Yay!

TWG is a really loverly movie. And, of course, Sean is completely brilliant in it.

It's one of those movies filled with symbolism about life and relationships and all that, but even if you don't want to get overly "thinky" the characters are endearing and interesting on their own (or, in pairs actually).

We called and looked in a gazillion video stores for TWG to no avail. Then one day my friend (THANK YOU, MISH) called and said she found it, of all places, through her city library system - go figure.

A bunch of us chicklets watched it on a Sunday afternoon and we all liked it lots. But halfway through we had to turn on the closed caption encoder because Mish couldn't understand the dialogue with the Scottish accents.

(Note to Alan Rickman: Hey, if you're gonna make a movie for release Stateside, please have the female actors shave their underarms - just totally ick!)

Oh, there was also one very "cringy" part where Sean's character...umm....*crossing legs here* ....nevermind ...you'll know what I'm talking about when you see the movie.

Anyway, I hope you all manage to find TWG. If you can't find it at your local video place, try your library. If not there, it's available from Amazon.com for $19.98US or less if you want a pre-viewed copy.

I liked it, actually. I'm into indie films, and I thought it moved really well. Francis' mother cracked me up more than the boys did. Everyone was really good in the movie.

Bliss, about the underarm bits: I honestly couldn't stop laughing when I saw that, and then I felt bad because you know...she was depressed and all and she probably...forgot.

i liked it. didnt really understand it all the first time but it grows on you definatley. i thought the boys where dead funny talking about working in the supermarket and stuff. teehee. her mother was funny too because my friends grandma is just like that!!

I saw a little bit of it. . . on the IFC (independent film channel). I couldn't watch the whole thing 'cause my brother kept walking in, so I kept having to change the channel. He would embarrass me to no end if he found out about my undying love for Sean & his acting. . .anyway it was good as much as I saw it, not in a mainstream way (obviously) which is way cooler anyway. I think I will do anything to see it again. . . 'cept not shave my armpits, ha ha ha, just kidding of course I could go with wearing long sleeved shirts for a while.

I've seen and have recorded all but the last 15 minutes. I'm, err...not supposed to be watching rated R movies (or ones that swears a lot), so I was recording it at home all alone when I remembered somewhere I had to be and I couldn't get the last fifteen minutes *sighs*, and I still don't know what happened...it's driving me CRAZY, because my family doesn't have IFC anymore and I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to see it.
