We traded my 1992 Chevy Cavalier Z 24 for this gorgeous car. I'm not sad in the least bit! The Z 24 was a good car but had been having transmission problems. I guess for the past 2 summers it would get stuck in 1st or 2nd gear. A real pain if you have no idea what to do if it gets stuck! We talked to a guy that works on transmissions & he asked if we had replaced the shifter cable, which we had. He then said that it was probably a sticky valve. We could either drive it like this until the transmission goes, or go ahead & have it rebuilt. So we chose to drive it until it goes. Johnny showed me how to manually shift it if it gets stuck. I did have to shift it, sometimes 3 or 4 times before it'll shift. In the mean time, Johnny installs a transmission cooler & switched to synthetic transmission fluid. After he installed the cooler, it hasn't acted up since. But, it was too late, I was already afraid to drive it. That's how the thought of us trading the car in came about. Why not trade it in & get something newer or new. I started looking at the new Mustangs. I really didn't want a Ford, but most of the designs of the newer cars really didn't appeal to me. I found a beautiful Sunset Orange Metallic Trans Am at a Nissan dealership here in town. That is one pretty car! I got to test drive it and I liked it except for the nose of the car. Not being used to the size of the nose of the car, I was scared I'd hit something. I also liked the power that it has. Several weeks later we found a '01 white Trans Am WS.6 at a Chevy dealership. I got to take that one out too. I really liked that one. The rumble of the exhaust & power was awesome! I wanted that car. I think that's when it hit me. I want one of these! We figured we would go look at the Pontiac dealership to see what they had. They had 3 different TAs'. One was a red convertible, a red WS.6 (it was ragged out), & our red TA. Johnny took it for a ride with the salesman & he came back with a smile. He liked it as much as I did! After doing some paperwork, we got to take it home. That Monday, we finished up the paperwork & the car was ours! We've been enjoying her ever since. And, of course, we have some modifications planned for her. That will come after the warranty expires.
