As represented in the previous pages, an analysis of media content, as well as the application of various audience related theories, help determine how representations of crime in the media both represent and reinforce society's own anxieties. As long as there is an audience willing to accept the images and constructions around true incidents of crime as they are represented in the media, the media will continue to perpetuate these images on television.
