Drop your claw and haul up as much gold as you can. Haul up enough gold to beat the level and get to the next level.
Use special items to help your way. For example, if your gold miner SE picks up a worthless rock you can drop a dynamite stick to get rid of it.

Drop your claw carefully - avoid missing targets and don't waste time hauling up useless items.
Purchase items in the store - use purchases to help your way but be careful, purchases decrease your money available and make the next level harder to beat.
