Where Modern day slaves can be found in many countries, Including India, Pakistan, Haiti, Sudan and the Dominican Republic. India In India the children are kidnapped, from there families at the age of about five. The children are locked in poorly lit, dirty rooms and forced to weave carpets to be sold. The slaves make the carpets and get nothing in return, but beatings and just enough food to survive. Pakistan In Pakistan the cane harvesters are shackled at the leg and forced to harvest the cane to pay of a debt. Most of the time there is actually a debt that the slaves owe. There is an estimated 50, 000 labourers still in captivity, and being forced to work. Sudan In Sudan the slaves are called Dinkas. The slaves are traded and sold for as little as $15. The slaves are physically injured to prevent them from escaping and to make them faithful to their master.
When Slavery came about when the Humans realised the could force others to do things for them by threatening, violence or injury. Slavery has been around as long as the human race has been. Formal slavery, such as trading and selling came about in the 15th century. People dedicated themself and there children to there masters, most likely due to threat or violence. Slave trade really took off in the 16th century, it was common for richer people to own slaves The most well known slave trade in the 16th century was the, "Triangular Slave Trade".
