NEOPIAN COMMUNITY SECRETS:
- POISONOUS FOOD IS NOT ACTUALLY POISONOUS.
DO NOT EAT ROTTEN OMELETTES-They give your pet a disease called Ugga Ugga. The cure for this disease, Sporkle Syrup, is unbuyable. Rotten omelettes look exactly like cheese omelettes, except they say "rotten omelette" underneath the picture. So be careful!!
Keep all your NPS (or as much as possible) in the Bank, and all valuables in your Safety Deposit Box in order to prevent creatures, such as the Pant Devil, from stealing your money and items.
When putting your pet in the Neolodge, the difference in whether or not your pet gets fed has nothing to do with the price. If you pay 5 NP per night, your pet will be kept fed as if you had paid 500 NP per night.
After you buy 10 Bottles of Earth Faeries, you can obtain the ability to "Burrow". This ability allows you to burrow underground so that physical attacks in the Battledome do not harm you as much. But remember, your pet must be at a high enough level in order for it to be blessed by the Faries. (For the levels and abilities, CLICK HERE.) [Sorry, "thebigdog", I will find these]. These levels do not correspond with the level of your pet. (You can obtain Bottled Faeries as a random event; from the Tombola randomly: or buy them in the Magic Shop.)
YOUR PET WILL REFUSE ...FOOD that is the same number of characters as your pet's name (including spaces)...TOYS that are 2 times the number of characters as your pet's name...PETPETS that are the same number of characters as your pet's name.
DUBLOONS --You can only get these from Coltzan's Shrine, Buried Treasure, or by buying them from a user's shop. They are no longer given out as prizes on any Flash game. (The only way to get smaller change for a dubloon [i.e. a 10 dubloon into two 5's] is to buy an item that costs less than the amount of your dubloon, or to set up a trade with another player.)
Job Coupons : You can't get these anymore. They were given out as a promotion, but are now retired and unbuyable. Even the smallest ones are over 100,000 NPS and are not worth buying.
You can visit the Healing Springs for free once every 45 minutes to try and restore your pet's hit points and health.
"Give and You Will Receive." This is rumored true in Neopia. The more you give to the MONEY TREE or donate to TOMBOLA, the more good random events will happen to you. (ex: Your pet gains a level or you find NP on the floor.) To donate to the Money Tree, click on the item in "Your Items" that you wish to donate. Select from the drop down menu "Donate Item". You can donate NP to the Tombola when he is out of cash.
It is also rumored, that a pet will receive something from Coltzan's Shrine(located in the Lost Desert) depending on his/her attitude. (For example: If your pet says, "Wow Coltzan, I hope you can make me stronger!", you will get better results than if your pet asks, "Can we play a game instead?") It is also rumored that younger pets get better results than older pets.
Whether or not you get blasted at the Snowager is completely random. Personally, I don't go there anymore because I can't keep wasting my time going back to the Healing Springs with four pets. (Those whose pets have a large amount of hit points tend to not go there either....restoring all of the hit points can take awhile!)
On your "Pet's Day", take advantage of the free training at the Academy. (If it doesn't work, submit a bug report and Neopets usually compensates by allowing an extra day of free training.)
And finally, the Turmaculus can only be awakended once per day at a random time. When he has awakened, he will only stay awake for about an hour. Rewards include neopoints, objects (ex: axe shrub),or restoring your pet's Hit Point's. Beware! The Turmaculus has been known to eat petpets!
