~Added a new photo to the 'Kellys' Pictures page. This is another photo from the taping of "Awkward Silence," this one was sent by Kathy Kelly and it includes the cast along with the real Kellys. ~Speaking of Kellys, a few weeks ago the real 'Chris,' Chris Wright, informed me that he and Mary would be attending the October 10th taping of an upcoming episode of Married to the Kellys called "Awkward Silence." Not only did they attend but they got to be in the episode too and they also got to meet the cast including the actors who play them! Chris was nice enough to send photos of them at the taping of the show and you can view them here. Although, Josh was not feeling well that day and couldn't stick around for the photos, they are still a real treat to look at for fans of the show.
~Reminder: If you haven't been watching Married to the Kellys then this Friday would be a great time to start. The episode, called "Corrupting Chris," will be the first episode to center around Josh's character! Not only that but some fans, including the real Chris and the real Kellys, are already saying that it's probably the best episode so far. So be sure to check it out.

~Added screencaps of Josh from the premiere episode of Married to the Kellys which aired Friday. Thanks to Dave for making them. Check out the screencaps in the Images section. Also, Chris Wright was nice enough to enlarge the promotional ad which features the cast wearing t-shirts that spell out "Kellys" and you can see it in the Kellys Pictures page.
~Now about the premiere. For those who saw the opening titles you may have noticed that Josh is now going by the name Joshua Braaten. If you didn't see it you can check out screencaps from the premiere and see for yourself. Also, the premiere did well in the ratings. Although George Lopez/Married to the Kellys came in second to CBS's hit Joan of Arcadia the ratings were still far better than that of the other major networks. And in the all-important 18-49 demographic (which is what advertisers mainly focus on) ABC's TGIF lineup ranked #1!

~Added 2 new images to the Kellys Pictures page! The first one is another new shot of Josh under the "Josh as Chris" section. The other one is a second version of the promotional photo where the Kellys are in the back of a pick-up truck in a corn field. It's actually the same photo but in the second version you can see more picture at the top and bottom.
~Also, I have been informed by the real Chris, Chris Wright, that he and wife Mary (played by Emily Rutherfurd in the show) will visit the set of Married to the Kellys on October 10. Chris and Mary might be extras on the episode being taped that day and Chris will have a chance to meet his on-screen counterpart Josh Braaten for the first time. Let's all wish Chris and Mary good luck. Have fun!

~Added 9 new images to the Kellys Pictures page! One is a new shot of Josh that ABC.com is using in his bio from their new Kellys site. Six are stills from the new pilot episode (the second version featuring Kiele Sanchez) also from ABC.com. One artwork photo that can be found at TVTickets.com and one is from an online advertisement that ABC is using to promote the show on the net. Enjoy!
~Also, updated the Contact section. It now has the new address where you can write to Josh care of CBS Studios where Kellys is taped.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I have been unable to update The Braat on my old hosting site secretly-real.net and so I have been forced to move The Braat to this new location at Angelfire (which in reality was the original home of The Braat when I first started this site). New content will be added and updates will be made all this week starting tomorrow! And remember, Married to the Kellys premieres in one week.

~Once again Kathy Kelly has been gracious and generous enough to share another photo with The Braat. This new photo was taken after a taping of Married to the Kellys on August 15 and features Tom Hertz's in-laws Bill and Sandra Kelly with the entire cast of the show. You can view the photo on the 'Married' Pictures page.
~The Johnson County Sun has an article which features interviews with Tom Hertz and the real life Kelly family in which they comment on the sitcom. Read it here and find out what the similarities and differences are between the real Kellys and the sitcom family. Also, read it to find out what the real Chris (Josh's character on the show) thinks about being portrayed on television.
~Fall Report: TV Guide's fall preview issue was released this week but the only thing worth mentioning about it is that it featured a brand new publicity photo of Breckin with Kiele.

~The ABC Preview Weekend at Disneyland's California Adventure is this weekend but unfortunately there's still no word on wether Josh will be there. The only Kellys stars confirmed to appear are Breckin and Kiele.
~Fall Report: Entertainment Weekly's fall preview issue is out this week. Kellys only got a small blurb which featured an amusing quote from creator Tom Hertz, "It's one guy's journey to fitting in and learning a different way of life that he ends up enjoying after seven seasons and syndication." The magazine wasn't too fond of the Kelly's obnoxious Uncle Dave but thankfully it doesn't seem that this character will be a regular presence on the show.

There have been no new updates in a while but hopefully we can expect some new info during September when magazines, newspapers and news shows start previewing the new fall shows and hopefully this will also mean some new photos as well. In the meantime keep checking out ABC as they are starting to show some new promos for Married to the Kellys which includes footage of new cast member Kiele Sanchez.
