My Truth, My Life

Online Magazine

December Main

So I guess theres a couple things I should talk about before I get into this. (1) What the name means/why I started the zine. (2) Who I am

(1) The name is really pretty simple. The zine is mainly about my life, and the things that happen in my life. It will contain a lot of other stuff too though. It will obviously have a lot of music stuff in it, and maybe some personal political rants. There are enough zines out there talking about politics and there doesn't need to be another one. The truth part means that I will say only what is true, and I wont try to make things up to look more scene. I think truth is the thing that will make the punk/hardcore scene better. The only thing i ever see is people stabing other people in the back to get more scene cred. As tough they had nothing better to do than spread lies and make up stories about their firends. Whats the difference in this behavior, and that of a executives of corporations? To me nothing. That reminds me. Another thing I want to do with this zine when i ask non retorhical questions, I want to answer them. I see a lot of people ask these really hard questions and expect an answer, when they themselves don't have one.

(2) My name is Ryan. Im 17 and have been into punk rock since i was 14. I started out as most kids start out these days. The first two punk albums I bought were nofx and mxpx.(Like I said Im going to tell the truth). The rest of the epitaph stuff, and that sort of crap followed. When i got into punk rock it still hadn't hit mtv and the malls and shit. There was maybe 2 or 3 other kids who were into punk and skateboarding in my middle school, so it was hard to get exposure to new bands. I play in two bands. SSE and The Turn-Offs.(sorry for the name dropping). SSE is a thrash/80s hardcore band. The Turn-Offs are a pop punk band (the good kind. Im in tenth grade (should be 11th). I live in Spring, a suburb of Houston. The rest you will learn later, I guess.
