Letter from Shawn Press

I am currently a student at Bishop McNally High School where I hold a C+ average. I will be graduating this year (2004) with an average of a B+. My team and I will be campaigning in the Canadian Baby Grand National Stock Series in 2004. My plan is to race in this series for two years, at which time I hope to have been successful enough, both on and off the track, that I may be granted the opportunity to move to the next level of racing, like, Cascar, Nascar Northwest Tour or SuperTrucks. Although many opportunities may come my way, my goal has always been to become a professional race driver in the Winston Cup (Nextell Cup)

Of the 12 years I have been involved in motor sports, nine have been spent in Pro Karting circuit racing throughout Western Canada and the North Western United States. In 2002, I spent most of that racing season as a full time volunteer crew member for the #50 Cascar west racing series team. This was a great opportunity to learn first hand just how much effort and time is needed to put forth a competitive chance at the semi-professional level.
