What are stars? They're just the ~*StarryEyedSurprise*~ guilds way of giving out points. How can you earn stars? Every time you donate 300 neopoints to the guild shop/ donation shop you get a star, and if you are the SOM you get a star. There are also other ways to get a star, like taking a job from the SES Times, or recruiting 5 members.
