Types of Peels
WHY?
Administered correctly, a chemical peel (or series of them) will smooth the surface of your skin, improve your skin tone and color, diminish wrinkles and shrink blood vessels and pore size.
Several types of peels are available. The light peel is made of a glycolic acid solution in concentrations much stronger than those available in over-the-counter products containing alpha hydroxy acids. The medium peel goes deeper within the skin using a solution of trichloroacetic acid or TCA.
Modified Jessner is a combination of three acids – Salicylic, Lactic, and Resorcinol. Dr. Max Jessner developed this formula when he discovered that combining lower strength acids would create a synergy that results in less risk and complications without reducing the efficacy.
Enzymes are proteins that digest the cells of the stratum corneum. They originate in living cells.
When staying within the boundaries of aesthetic applications there are three levels of peeling that will occur – progressive, mid-depth ,deep
