The Religious Aspects of Nancie Skinner

Okay... so i seperated this page into categories...so if you actually do wanna read what I'm writing.. you wont get all confused and cross eyed.

One True Church

Well now that's a huge topic for me. Is there one "true" church? At one (recent) point in my life, I truly thought there was. In fact I believed it with my full mind, heart and soul... but then I got to thinking... does that mean that I think all other religions are wrong? And I totally don't. But I can't say that I'm right, without saying you're wrong... when that's what I'm being told to believe.

I believe that everyone should do good things. I believe that life should be taken seriously enough to survive… but not to the extreme seriousness where you have to put yourself into any danger wondering what actually does lie behind the curtain separating life and death.

I believe you were put to this world to be happy… ya know? Love yourself, and then love your neighbors as much as you love yourself… and then lose yourself in the service of others. Do good things. DON’T DO BAD THINGS!

A true church means there's one true religion, and a specific God... but God is what makes you happy… and if being Catholic, or LDS, or Buddhist or any religion or belief makes you happy… then that’s where the one “true” church lives.

Faith

I love how much controversy this one little word can bring to a conversation. Faith is basically believing in what you can't see. Now when it comes to religion, and beliefs... you have to have faith. It's the thing that lets you believe that you are right. When you feel that you are right, then you are feeling the Spirit. I believe that there's a Spirit inside every person, and it's that Spirit that tells us whether or not what we're doing is a right decision. It's that Spirit that helps us build faith into whatever we believe.

I believe in a Heavenly Father, and the Spirit. I can't honestly say that I believe in Jesus though. Simply because I don't have a strong testimony of Him in my life. But I know he was no ordinary man. I mean the miracles that he did are breath taking to listen to... but a part of me thinks that He may have been a man ahead of his time. He did have amazing principals, and I strongly admire all the many things that he taught, lived by, and did... but a part of me is very unsure about him.

I believe that every single person is equal. I don't care if you're black, white, brown or purple...A person is a person.

I think that geneology is so interesting. And I do believe that everyone is related... and I dislike it when people are like "would you treat your mother that way?" because if you live believing that we're all related... and that we're all equal... then you would treat your mother and your friends, the exact same way.

I believe that the end of the world could come today, or it could never come. I can see how it would end... but I can also see how it wouldn't. So that's why I'm all about living righteously, and honorably. Be proud of who you are and the things that you do.

When it comes down to it... I believe that you should live honorably and righteously. Have strength and courage to be yourself, and love who you are. Don't spend all your time wishing you were someone else... because by the time your life ends, you will figure out, that the person you were wanting to be, was wanting to be you. Every religion more than less teaches doctrines of good behavior, honesty, trust, and love. Do what you feel is right, and dont worry about what other people think. Sometimes the hardest thing to realize is that the people that you love, aren't always right. And that's why you've got to have faith that there's something more.

Now What?
