Bobby Van Iten (7/1/77) was the Phil's 16th round pick in the 1996 amateur draft out of Truman High School in Independence. MO. Never considered a prospect, Van Iten spent seven professional season with the Phillies and was a solid organizational player every year. His best season to date has been 1997, when he hit .309 for Martinsville. He was a minor league free agent at the end of 2002 and did not re-sign.
