McNair Program

The Ronald E. McNair Post baccalaureate Achievement Program is funded by the United States Department of Education. It is part of a series of educational support programs designed to ensure equal educational opportunities for all Americans. The program is a tribute to Ronald E. McNair—a scholar, astronaut, and recognized laser physics expert who perished aboard the Challenger space shuttle in 1986.

The Memphis McNair Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is designed to help students prepare for and enter graduate study and research in science-related fields such as Dental Science, Pharmacology, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, and Health Science Administration.

Leroy Moore at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is the program director. Regina J. Hairston is the University of Memphis liaison.
