MAPS/GEAR-UP
is a federally funded grant designed to help minority students become
academically prepared to enter into and succeed in college. MAPS uses
college students not only as tutors but also as role models to encourage
minority students, in Memphis City Schools, to attend college. The
director for the University of Memphis MAPS/ GEAR-UP grant is Dr. Donald
Franceschetti. The program coordinator is Regina J. Hairston.
