Mega Man Anniversary Collection GameCube and PS2 differences

This page will list the differences between the two versions of Mega Man Anniversary Collection:

The two versions have an Auto-Save feature. This will look like a blue text box that appears when the game checks your Memory Card, Loads your game, and Saves your game. The font used for these text boxes in the two versions are different.

Auto-Save, load game and checking Memory Card text boxes:

GameCube version-The font chosen for the Nintendo GameCube version gives the text a classic look. It looks similar to the font used for the text in the NES games.

PS2 version-This version is the Port (Meaning taking the data from the GCN version, and putting it all onto a PS2 disc). The font chosen for the PS2 version gives the text a fancy look. Looks very nice looking.

Options room:

The PS2 version was given the additional Video Options. With this option, you can position the screen. This might be a bit of a problem if you have the GCN version, because you can see a black bar on the bottom of the TV if you use a TV that has a big screen. This is because part of the image was moved up a bit. This is only an issue with Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, and the two Arcade games. The NES games are aways full screen.

Load screens:

For the load screens, the GameCube version has a spinning disc with Mega Man on it. The PS2 version has a black bar instead. Load times for the GCN version are about 7 seconds for the NES games, 5 seconds for Mega Man 8 and 20 seconds for Power Fighters to load. The PS2 version takes twice as long for these games to load. Unlockables:

The two versions have the same unlockables, except for one thing: The GameCube version has an Interview with Keji Inafune, the creator of the Mega Man series. The PS2 version has an episode of the 1994 American Mega Man cartoon instead. With this episode on DVD and VHS sets, and having poor video quality, you might want to think about this for a sec before you try and unlock it, or buy the PS2 version for that matter.
