GLORY WRITTEN BY SHAPE
As an unlikely passenger carried far on the powerful wings of a great
bird
A quick flutter on a rocky perch sends a single seed tumbling between the
rocks
In a land where no others exist, and sheltered from a wind that could lift
it to a better place, a solitary life begins ....
Growth is slow, as small spaces allow only a permitted shape to be part of nature's contours Swollen knuckles develop as evidence of a noble fight to fill those stingy gaps The calling light above asks for twists and turns that sculpt a shape far different from the code that fell to soil
Time drifts.... struggle shifts to harmony, as the once rocky
womb becomes a cradle
A proud Mother Earth holds up her twisted son to caressing winds and
warming rays
But, with no whispering chorus over neighbouring branches a reaching
spirit forever bends to a distant call
The ages carve lines around the knots of old age The green
of health turns pale, as out stretched arms become heavy and stiff
Its time has passed, and life drifts away leaving us
its statuous diary to be read over and over as if nothing has changed.
