Preparation Time: 30 minutes

Cooking Time     : 20 minutes

Serves for 6 people.


350 grams (12 oz.) paneer.

2 tomatoes

1/2 teaspoon chilli sauce (optional)

3 tablesppons ghee

ghee for deep frying

salt to taste.

To be ground into a paste

1 one large onion

2. one tablespoon khus-khus

3. one tablespoon grated fresh coconut

4. two sticks cinnamon

5.two cloves

6.ten peppercorns

7.six red kashmiri chillies

8. three teaspoons coriander seeds

9. one and half teaspoons cumin seeds

10.five coves garlic

11. twenty five mm piece ginger


1. cut the paneer into long pieces  and deep fry in ghee.

2. Chop the tomatoes.

3. Heat the ghee in a vessel. Fry the paste for at least 3 to 4 minutes

5. Add the paneer pieces, cream, chilli sauce, salt and one teacup of water and cook for 10 minutes.

Note: Serve hot with parathas.
