The Real Treaty of Ghent
The Treaty of Ghent took place in Ghent, a city in Belgum. The men sent from the United States of America to negotiate the treaty are Galation,Clay, Baynard, Russel, and Adams. Some of the problems facing the treaty, was that England would not sign until summer because they were working out the Congress of Vienna to end the Nepolionic Wars. The Treaty of Ghent was finally signed on December 24, 1814 and had three major parts. 1. England will agree to Quo Anti Bellum, which means everything will go back to how it was before the war, meaning no grudges will be held. 2.England agrees and will not Impress any sailors off American ships. Seizure of cargo and ships stop. This stops not because of the treaty, but mostly because the Nepolionic Wars stop. 3.England will admit and realize that they will not get America back, the colony is lost to them forever. And England will treat America as a country from then on.
