For
the less active there was always the chance to chill out on the verandah
and catch up with the news (what news?)
Left: Sam, Alastair, Adam, Steven, Clare, Caroline and Su stare at the floor. The night before must have been a good one. |

For
the more adventurous (or foolhardy) a swing had been provided. The boys
seemed especially keen to see who could go the highest without breaking a
limb. Another game which tested stamina was broom spinning - rotating
rapidly round a broom handle whilst counting to ten. The few volunteers
soon found themselves sprawling on the grass.

Sunday lunch was cooked on camping stoves, and varied in quality according
to the skill of the cook.
Left: Ben, Steven and Adam experiment with a Trangia. Right: Tim and Alistair supervise the cooking from the comfort of their sleeping bags. |

Sunday was also a time for sports, with rounders and football leading the
way. There was plenty of room on the field, but limited levels of energy
amongst the campers, and by lunchtime efforts were devoted to packing
everything up and cleaning the log cabin, a major task in itself.
Left: Lee and Johnathon leave the campsite in a hurry.
