Neon Genesis: Evangelion
Neon Genesis is considered one of the top anime series of all time. The story takes place on Earth in the year 2015. The show follows a young boy Shinji and the UN agency NERV as they try to stop the alien race known as the “Angels” from destroying earth. NERV uses the huge and mysterious bio-mechanical Evangelions as there defense against the “Angels” The story line is vary intriguing with many subplots and deals vary much with the question of life “Why are we here?” What is my purpose?” The characters in the story are forced to ask these questions about them selves and sometimes the answers they receive are not that great. I enjoyed this series a lot more than a I thought I would. It has the same feel and flow as such other anime series like Robotech. Where it differs though is that every episode is vary important to the grand finale of the show. The series is 26 episodes in all. If you’re in to abstract kind of shows and movies you’ll like the final two episodes. If you like your storylines cut and dry the final two episodes will drag for you. Don’t fear all you cut and dry people though they made two full length movies after the series ended to tie up all the story lines. The animation is amazing and the story line is on par with other great anime such as Akira and Vampire Hunter D.

JLA/AVENGERS
This is a story that has been in the works for all most two decades. Marvel and D.C. couldn't get the act together back in the 80's to get it off the ground, but now here it is the two premier super teams from the two premier comic book companies. Artist/Inker Geroge Perez (Crisis on Infinite Earths) out does him self for the first issue while writer Kurt Busiek set the foundation with a well paced story leading up to the final page of issue one with the Avengers and the JLA in a stand off. I was nervous about picking up the first issue of this book. More times than not cross over don't work. Issue one may be the first inkling in disproving that theory. You really get to see what a drastic difference it is between the D.C. universe and the Marvelverse. Both teams are given ample page time. The story begins with multiple worlds being destroyed by a cosmic being. Two separate beings than contact the JLA and the Avengers with out the other knowledge and make them aware of there impending doom. If you've never red a comic book before check this out you get the best of both companies literally.3>

Confession of a Dangerous Mind
Starring: Sam Rockwell, Drew Barrymore, George Clooney and Julia Roberts
Director: George Clooney
If I have to describe this movie in one word that word would be… Ok so I can’t describe it in one word sue me!!!! The movie is based on the book (which goes by the same name as the movie) written by Chuck Barris who is all so the main character in the movie played by Sam Rockwell. The movie is “supposedly” based on the life of Barris who created such game shows as The Dating Game and The Gong Show who will neither confirm nor denies certain details of the movie. In the movie we see Barris who by day produces these well know game shows and by night is a killer for the C.I.A. by night who incidentally enjoys it.
Sam Rockwell is amazing in this movie getting down Barris’s trademark voice to a T. Rockwell does a great job of showing the pain and pressure that Barris went through during this time in his life. Drew Barrymore plays the romantic lead in the movie (Penny) a free spirited women who is not so much a love interest in the start of the movie but more of a “friend with benefits” for Chuck.
George Clooney (who also directed this movie) and Julia Roberts play spies in this one. Clooney is the C.I.A. agent who brings Barris into the fold of government espionage. Clooney plays this role deadpan and though his scenes are limted that have a large affect on the movie. Roberts plays the role of one of Barris contacts while on a mission. She plays a woman who seems to be tired of the espionage game and take’s a liking to Barriest.
Some of the best scenes and acting take place near the end of the film when Barrists paranoia begin to grow with the fear of an assassination attempt on his life. You really feel in anguish and anxiousness during one scene while he’s hosting “The Gong Show” where he just stop what he’s doing on stage and screams out “COME AND GET ME!!!”
Over all fiction or non-fiction this is a great story from start to finish.
Is it true though? Well that’s for you to decide.
