40 Days of Purpose News //

This week's Theme: You Were Made for a Mission
Have you ever wondered, "When a person becomes a Christian, why doesn't God just take them on to heaven?" The answer is that God has an assignment for each of us; you were made for a mission. What is that mission? You don't have to speculate. Just as Jesus was leaving to go back to heaven, he left clear instructions for each of us. Come next week and explore the only one of the five purposes we can’t do in heaven! Then, visit the Missions Fair and check out all the ways our church reaches out to our community and our world. Make it your personal challenge to stay until you have found a mission or outreach to try!

Missions Fair: Immediately following the service this Sunday
This week we have an exciting chance to explore all the outreach ministries and short-term missions our church is involved in at the Missions Fair. You may just find the perfect way to touch our world with God’s love in your own special way. This is a great opportunity to go beyond your borders and start using your talents and time to reach out to our community and the world beyond. If you need a way to live out God’s fifth purpose for your life, you will be sure to find it at the Missions Fair! Get together with your small group or your family and find a mission to try together!

Celebration Service: Next Sunday- November 23rd
You’re Invited to a Party! Join us for the culmination of the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign · Enjoy the Stories · Celebrate God’s Work · Rejoice in Changed Lives Sunday, [11/23] Childcare provided. Dessert included. Celebration Sunday is free of charge.

Prayer Focus: Evangelism
“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” James 5:16 (niv)
Beseech God that we will all become world-class Christians with our hearts on fire for lost souls. Pray for people to attend the Missions Fair and discover places where they may be drawn to carry the gospel. Ask that God would be our voice as we boldly share our testimony with those who need His Son, Jesus.

This week's 40 Day Focus:
Evangelism

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders: make the most of every opportunity.
(NIV) Colossians 4:5

Celebrate Recovery: Sundays @ 5:30 p.m.
Celebrate Recovery is a Biblical and balanced program to help people overcome their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Celebrate Recovery is based on the actual words of Jesus rather than a psychological theory. Some recovery programs deal only with alcohol, drugs, or any single problem, but Celebrate Recovery is a “Large Umbrella Program” under which a limitless number of issues can be dealt with. Join us every Sunday night at 5:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. If you have any further questions, please call Joe Vazquez @ (281) 890-4711 ext. 104
