1) What got you into track...and what grade? My brother got into track ....He was in his Jr year and I was in my Fresh. year. 2) What years where you in high school? I went to Christiansburg High from 1984-1988 3) Did you break a school record..if so what event and what distance/time ? Yes I have the indoor and outdoor school record at Christiansburg High....well the last time I checked. 4) What did you do post high school involving Track and field.? (college/pro..distances/times ex..) I went to Boise State University and Was a Three time Big Sky Conference Champion. I was the winner of the shot and discuss and the Most Valuable Field performer of the 1992 Big Sky Championship Meet. I hold the school record in the Discuss and is one of the top three in Boise State history in the shot putt. I have the top records in the weight room for women. In the bench press I was able to bench over 275lbs, and was easily one of the tops in the conference. Anything else you would like to add... I now work in Las Vegas and enjoy my hobbies of having fun with friends and singing the National Anthems at Boise State basketball games and local sporting events in Las Vegas. Hoping to sing at more events. |
1) What got you into track...and what grade? To answer that question it should be asked "Who.." more that "What...." Coach Baily was the sole reason that go me on the track in the first place...he said "This will get you ready for Varsity Basketball." Since he was the JV Basketball coach I beleved him. I was a Junior the first year I ran. 2) what years where you in high school? from 1981-1986 3) what was your Personal Record? 7'1" indoor, 7'2" outdoor 4) did you break a school record..if so what event and what distance/time ? Yes. I did it was held by one of Coach Baily's teammates Phil Bragg (I think his name was) He jumped 6'4" I jumped 6'5" at Narrows and set the record higher as the season went on. Finishing my first season at 6' 6". I broke the Seven foot barrier my Senior year. 5) what did you do post high school involving Track and field.? (college/pro..distances/times ex..) Indoor/Outdoor High school All-American, Indoor National Champion 1986. While attending Boise State University I was a two time Big Sky Conferance champion and a second place runner up behind my teamate Troy Kemp in the Highjump. (he finished 2nd at the NCAA that year) And I was Outdoor Big Sky Champion, and we won the Team Championship that year too. I was an All-American finishing 5th over all at the NCAA Championship 1989 @ Provo, UT. Finished 14th @ Mobile Outdoor Championship 1989 in Houston, Tx. Finished 7th at the US Olympic Festival 1989 in Normon,Ok. Finished 15th in the NCAA outdoor championship 1990 @ Duke,NC 6) Where do you live now? Boise Idaho but planning to move back to VA |
