Set-up process

 

1. Find a Working Location. You may select their home as the place for working.

2.  Go to the Business Registration Office of the Inland Revenue Department to apply a Business Registration Certificates. You  must be registered with Business Registration Office within 1 month of its commencement. To registry, you must fill in the required form and pay the required amount. If you forward the documents by person, you can get the Business Registration Certificates immediately. If you forward them by post, the Business Registration Office will send the Business Registration Certificates to your working location.

Notes

1. According to the Business Registration Ordinance, manager must put the Business     Registration Certificates on a conspicuous place of the working location.

2. Business operators may select for issue of business registration certificates that are valid for one or three years. Please refer to the Registration Fee and levy.

3. When you registry, you must bring along a certified copy of your Hong Kong ID card.

4. For the payment, you can choose either by cash, cheque or EPS.

5. Besides the Business Registration Certificates, you may need to apply other correlated licenses to start your business. For example the Restaurant License.

6. If you are not Hong Kong resident, you must authorize a Hong Kong resident as a representative. However, please notice that the representative has no right to manage the business, he/she is only for receiving the letters of the government.1
