One more big tourney
Hey everyone. Well unfortunately stage 2 wasn't so hot. I am actually pretty content with the way it all went. I had one bad round where I was at the point where something good needed to happen on the course and instead of being patient and letting it happen, I tried to force good shots. That was a big mistake and I know not to repeat it again next year. Knowing I can make 18 Birdies in 72 holes at that level is a huge confidence builder because the 4 day cut was -5. The game is definitely there.

I have the Grey Goose/Gateway Tour Championship starting next week Thursday (Dec. 15th - 18th.) I'll leave on Monday to get in a few practice rounds. Lets keep the good streak going and come out on top. I hope everyone is well and Happy Holidays! Talk to you soon.

Stage 1, Done!!
Mood:  happy
Hi everyone, well we did it. Stage 1 is now over and we made it through successfully. 68, 68, 73, 67 (-8) I only had to play one hole today, 18, because the PGA is trying to get this qualifier over and done before Wilma hits. Yesterday we tried to get the hole thing in (remaining 36 holes) but it got dark before we could complete our 72nd hole. I will not know until Nov. 1 where stage 2 will be but I have a feeling it will be in Tampa. Thank you to all who have been following me this week and lets get through stage 2 as smooth as we did stage 1 this week. Have a good weekend! I will!

Now that's more like it!!
Even after several practice sessions with the new swing changes, it still doesn't feel 100% comfortable and it probably won't for a while. The good news is we finished making the last two cuts of the season for the Grey Goose / Gateway Tour summer series. Unfortunately, I had one bad round in each of the final two tourneys: 69, 70, 78, 72 (+1) and 80, 64, 70 (-2). These scores show not only the frustrations that can take place of the new swing changes but also the potential. Take those two high rounds away and things are looking really good.

It feels good to end the tour season with a positive attitude. Confidence makes up a huge part of taking it deep and I'm happy to have some of it back. PGA Tour Q-School is coming up in mid-October so this is where it can all begin. I'm gonna get geared up for that and give it my best shot. Thanks to all for keeping up with my progress and lets make it happen!!

Some time off
Hi everyone, I hope you all are doing well. I have been hitting the ball pretty good but am still missing cuts by just a few shots every time I play. So I feel the answer is to see someone, someone who is a great player and is very knowledged about the game. Well I took a real lesson for the first time in about 7 years from Wayne DeFrancesco at Woodholme in Baltimore my last trip home.

He made some really good points about making some changes to get my swing more consistent. He compared my swing to many that you see on the PGA Tour and the biggest thing that stood out was the speed of my swing. So I am now swinging to the beat of a metronome set at 42 beats per minute. It's very interesting how the whole thing works. I'd be happy to explain it to anyone who is interested.

So I'm hitting the range hard with this new development and feel confident that these changes will bring out some even better results.

Hi everyone, a close call this week. Shot 73, 72 and just missed the cut. I hit the ball much better, I just couldn't get the putts to sink. I have some time off until my next tournament so I'm gonna be hitting the practice facility hard making sure those putts fall next time around. I hope all of you in Maryland are staying cool, I heard the weahter up there is getting over 100 deg. Just do what I do and drink lots of water and load up the sun screen. I hope everyone is well!!

Man, a tough break this week. The cut was at -2 and I finished 36 holes at -1 74,69. The good news is I'm hitting the ball better off the tee and keeping it in play because lately the driver has been preventing me from scoring. I feel more confident that the scores will get better from now on. My short game feels good and my putting avg. thus far this summer is 29.3. Overall, my game feels stronger and I'm confident that the rest of the summer will be exciting.
I'm having a great time in South Florida. The weather is warm and the guys on tour are great to hang out with. Feel free to drop me a line: titleist01@hotmail.com Hope everyone is well, talk to you soon!

A close one at the U.S. Open Local Qualifier
Mood:  a-ok
Hey ya'll. What an interesting day of golf. There were 7 spots available out of 106 competitors at the U.S. Open local qualifier today at Norbeck Country Club (my old stomping grounds.) I ended up with a 72 and found my self in a tie for 8th. Missed by one shot.

I wound up in a 4 way tie for four alternate spots. The four of us teed it up on number 8 (par four) and I made a good up and down save for par and the other 3 made par as well. So we all went to number 9 (par four) and I was over the green for my second shot with the pin in the back. I then hole out a flop shot for birdie and snatch the 1st alternate spot for the U.S. Open Sectional Qualifier which will be played at Woodmont Country Club on June 6th. What a way to finish the day and what made it even more special was having the Norbeck members as well as my family there.

It was good to see some old faces there. Thank you to all of the Norbeck members that came out, I appreciate your support. Cross your fingers so that my position will warrant me qualifing for a spot at Pinehurst No.2. I hope everyone is well and lets get-r-done!!

In like a lamb, out like a Lion!!
Mood:  happy
Well what a season. This was without a doubt the toughest stretch of golf I've ever played. Hats off to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail for a true test to my golf game. I have to say that these were very challenging and long golf courses and to say every hole played as if it had a Sunday pin would be an understatement.

I made the cut for the final tournament and finished in 7th place. This boosted my ranking from 26th to 20th on the money list and at the same time occupied the last spot for the Grey Goose/Gateway Tour Championship in December. It will be played on the Dye course at PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Fl.

You can view my scores on the tour web site by clicking the link on the left or see all of my detailed stats by clicking on the statistics link (for the stats link, sign in under the name: "underparllp" and the password is: "titleist" .

I would like to thank everyone for checking up on the web site to view my progress as the season went on. Thank you for your support and lets kick some butt in West Palm Beach, Fl, for the summer series of the Grey Goose/Gateway Tour.

Putting Woes
Hey everyone. The weather arrives right on time. Round one in Auburn began with over a 2 1/2 hr. delay due to strong thunderstorms and tornado warnings. That makes all 6 tourneys in a row with bad weather. Missed the cut this week by 2 strokes, 71-78. I am going to start writing better comments on this website starting next week. No more missed cuts!! I've been struggling with one of my stronger areas in golf, putting. I'll keep grinding until I can get the feel back in the putter. As everyone knows, without the flat stick working, you might as well catch the next flight home. Hope everyone is doing well and will write with some better news next week. Talk to you soon.

Made the cut for the 4th tourney
The conditions were extremely tough this week here in Montgomery. I had the earliest tee time for the first round and didn't know it would turn out to be the most adventageous. The winds were blowing up to 40 miles per hour at some times. The temp never got above 48 for round one and two and even though the conditions got better throughout the tournament, the course didn't play much easier. The pin locations were in very difficult spots and that's where I found myself unfortunately some of the time. All in all, finished in a tie for 16th and received another paycheck. Keep em coming!!

Next week we're in Birmingham. I hear great things about the course so I'm excited to play it. It's supposed to be one of the best on the RTJ Trail. Click on the tour web site for more info. Hope you all are well and staying warm up there in Maryland or where ever you may be. Have a good weekend.
