Welcome to the Roommate Advice Site

This site was created after dealing with roommates on my own for several years. When I first started renting out rooms to people I asked myself what questions should I ask a roommate applicant. I didn't know what to screen for and didn't even have a basic application form. Over the years, I've come up with a few tips on this and would be happy to share them with other people. Check out the articles that I link to for some thoughts about finding the roommate who's a perfect match for you.

Interview Questions: The roommate screening process

Opposite Sex Roommates: Should you go Co-Ed?

If your are still searching for roommates, you may find a roommate at this site. They say their site has plenty of features but is less expensive than the other roommate finder options. I have to agree, since it is currently free to use!

Houses for Rent Is another site that promises to bring rental property listing to people for free. If you get sick of your roommate, then you could use this site to strike it out on your own!

The other day, I was talking to a guy in Argentina who has an interesting site going. He put up a site that has images of different websites' logos and there were a bunch of handy ones on there. Take a look at this free pixels webpage and you can see what I mean. When I was browsing it he has a few handy real estate sites with homes for rent and this handy apartments for rent site. There were also these interesting vacation home rentals and bed and breakfast sites that look good for figuring out a vacation. Another two that stood out for me were this free recipes site and this recipe exchange site. I suppose if you find the roommate that works out for you, you could get something cooking at that site!

Best of luck with your roommate interview. There are a lot of questions to ask. And remember, you're better off without a roommate than one you can't stand!
