game 6

Kariya is helped up by fellow teammates after a blow by Stevens.

PAUL KARIYA.. also known as the Maine Mallard was the star in tonights game. There were doubts among the fans, for Kariya had not yet scored a goal in the playoffs. Other fans knew that he would soon rise and shock the crowd with his swift skills. In the first period, Kariya was being checked constantly by Elias off the near side board causing an obstruction interference penalty for New Jersey. Throughout that period, Kariya kept running into opponents as well as his own teammates. Then in the second period, Kariya recieves a huge blow from Scott Stevens, and falls to the floor laying completely still. Moments later, he is able to get up, though still wobbly, and seeks care in the locker room. Even the announcers sought this blow to be one of the toughest to recover instantly from. A massive ovation came from the crowd when Kariya came back onto the bench. His swift skills come into play with about 3 minutes left into the second period, crossing the NJ blue line with great speed, and scoring with an amazing slap shot past Brodeur's left shoulder. This became the climax of game 6 and fans already knew that there was already going to be a game 7.

THE MIGHTY DUCKS.. who are the underdogs of the Stanley Cup Playoffs have pulled through and surprisingly managed to stay in the game. Being the lowest scoring team on the roster, they were to compete against all the other teams in the Western Conference until their time of elimination. But, that time hadn't come, for the fact that they have already crushed the Stars, Wild, and last years Stanley Cup champions.. the Detriot Redwings. With their mighty struggle, the Ducks have finally advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time ever in history [which is a great feeling for me because I get to witness this achievement :)] and have earned their title as the Western Conference Champions recieving the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl. Representing the true meaning of their team name, they are in fact, the mightiest of them all. Quack.

Rants/Comments: (Note: These are mostly my comments left for a game that took place on that particular day. It isn't necessarily a "rant".. I'm just too lazy changing the name of this link and such.. Cut me some slack.)

Monday, June 9th, 2003 - PRE-FINALS ENTRY! Yey! I am so ready for the game tonight at 5. I really hope/want Anaheim to win this one. I wish game 7 was at home though. My mom brought home a bunch of Sabercats thundersticks from when she went to the AFL game last night and I wrote Mighty Ducks all over them so I can cheer the duckies on during the game. I was also going to paint my nails purple but I forgot to. I'd do it now but the game is about to start soon. I even dressed Donald Duck up in a Ducks jersey and I needed to cover his hat somehow. What better way to hide it with a Stanley Cup imitation! har har. Well, GO DUCKS!! GET GIGGY WITH IT! =P

Saturday, June 7th, 2003 - WOOOO Today was the biggest birthday present from the Ducks EVER! Well, my relatives from LA came to visit so I had to stay w/ my dad at his apartment over the weekend. I was all bummed because I was going to miss the game and he didn't have a TV. So I recorded it back home and hoped the ducks were winning. We spent most of the day at Santa Cruz and then when we were finally going back to the apt, my relatives asked me where I wanted to eat at for my birthday and I had a great idea.. I said D&B!! I could care less about the food at the moment, all I wanted to do was head next to the bar and watch the game being brodcasted on TV. When we got there, I headed towards the bar and squinted to see the score. I didn't want to stand too close because I was afraid someone would stop me from being around the bar area. Anyways! With my 20/20 vision, I SAW THAT THE DUCKS WERE AHEAD BY 3 POINTS! SCORE WAS 5-2!! It was the greatest. And I got there when there was only less than a minute left in the 3rd period. WOOOOO even the people in the bar cheered and that made my day :D

Final Score: ANAHEIM 5 - NEW JERSEY 2

Monday, June 2nd, 2003 - Alright. Today.. i had my whole day planned. Get home, develop the concert pictures, sort out a bunch of things in my room since its all crap-like.. and then watch hockey at 5pm. Because the ducks rock my socks, i just had to record game 4. They were pulling through, hardcore man. The score was 0-0 throughout all 3 periods. After 13 mins left into the 3rd period, my whole fricken circle had a power failure and i got all pissed because i wanted to see this game to the max. I would've driven to a friends house but i was too lazy and then I had an idea of going into the car and tuning into the hockey AM station. luckily, they aired the game.. and they went on OT. all of a sudden, you hear the announcers saying "AND THOMAS SCORESSSSSSSSS" HOOOOOOOONKKKKKKKKKKKK and i'm all going insane in the car, screaming and clapping and saying heck yes a few times. It was funny because a bunch of my neighbors were outside cause of the whole power thing too. I wished I got to see it with my own eyes rather than just hearing everything. But its ok i guess. THEY WON and that's all that matters.

Final Score: OT ANAHEIM 1 - NEW JERSEY 0

5/19/03-6:15 PM. NOOOOO!! Ottawa is leading.. The Devils earned their point quickly because the Senators were spacing out (which only seemed that way from my vague point of view). 8:45 left into the 3rd period.. who's it gonna be? I am going for the Devils but I suppose Ottawa should earn this game. After all.. they had just announced about their 4 playoff losses last season. Brodeur sucks. Just kidding. I can't really say that because having the role of a goalie is tough. AHHHH OTTAWA SCORED AGAIN (7:32) Spezza, 19, scores that one. And what the heck are these people waving around? They don't look like shirts.. handkerchiefs maybe..? It's impossible for the Devils to win now, but it's okay.. this is Ottawa's elimination game. If they don't win, they're gone.. so.. I take that back about the Devils. GO CANADA!!

Final Score: OTTAWA 3 - NEW JERSEY 1

Wednesday, April 30th, 2003 - DUCKS WON AGAINNN they beat the starzzz in a power play hahhhhahahahaha they're on a winning streak and since they're like.. at the bottom and stuff.. they'll sure be able to pull up *hopes*
