Through the efficient use of funds, Child Welfare Scheme empowers and enables its local partners to work with communities to reduce poverty and improve the health, education and opportunities of disadvantaged children and youth in order to give them a second chance in life. To date CWS has helped more than 10 mountain village communities build and manage their own Day-Care Health Centres. CWS has also set up drinking water projects and established programmes to build smokeless stoves in many villages houses. In addition CWS undertakes activities for street youth in Pokhara, including a health clinic, and a vocational training and reintegration centre. At least 85% of funds donated to CWS are used directly for project activities. |
