In the darkness of the night, beware my lantern burning bright!

 Specter

I'm not a wandering spirit, I'm looking for my damn legs!

Malicious, lantern-toting spirits found in Konami's 2008 Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia [Japanese title, Akumajo Dracula: Ubawareta Kokuin (Demon Castle Dracula: The Stolen Seal)] Nintendo Dual Screen (DS) video game.

Specters float effortlessly through the air, phasing in-and-out of the material plane to assault their unfortunate victims. Their perpetual torment fuels a bottomless hatred for all living things, the sight of which only serves to remind a Specter of what they've lost and can never reclaim. Due to their ghostly nature, Specters are resistant to injury by conventional means. However, they cannot abide holy light, the merest touch of which burns them like acid. A wise adventure will equip the appropriate Glyph on Shanoa, the protagonist of the game, to take advantage of this (Luminatio for example). Conversely, darkness is their natural element and only a fool would seek to do a Specter harm with the very shadowy force that perpetuates its unnatural existence.
