Crawling, leather-clad, humanoid creatures that can be encountered in the 'Nightmare' Hiltop Center, 'Nightmare' Hospital, and Church portions of the Silent Hill 3 video game.
Slurpers feed from the mouth at the end of their snouts; the sharp tongue within punctures the flesh of its prey and then the monster sucks up and ingests fluids and tissue from the open wound. However, because these crawling monsters can't climb, they must knock down larger organisms, like humans, in order to get at them. They accomplish this by tripping their targets up with a swipe of their club-like arms. Slurpers tend to play dead after suffering substantial damage. Once the attacker lets his or her guard down and investigates the 'corpse', the creature suddenly springs 'back to life' and renews its attack. Slurpers can be difficult to strike because they move so low to the ground and are capable of sudden bursts of speed.
A Slurper's need to knock large prey down to its level in order to overpower it limits the creature's effectiveness, particularly against someone that is familiar with the monster's tactics. Slurpers have poor eyesight, but can usually locate food by sense of smell. They are easily distracted with the beef jerky that Heather may find lying about on her journeys.
