I screen captured, and edited, all of these sprites from the Games Express' Japanese PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16) Lady Sword roleplaying video game. The creatures are listed in alphabetical order and they've been enlarged for easier viewing. All copyrighted images and terminology seen on this web page belongs to Games Express, not to me. The data presented is intended for informational/archival purposes only.

I did all of the name translations from the original Japanese text. In cases where I couldn't decide what the katakana characters were meant to phonetically approximate, I left the monster's title in Japanese. As I am not even remotely fluent in the language, some of my translations may still be incorrect and/or subject to reinterpretation.

PEOPLE
Our hero is not the only adventurer wandering around inside the tower. You'll often bump into, and converse, with these seven individuals as you work your way upwards. While they may initially seem harmless, even benevolent, some of these characters will eventually show their true colors and you'll be forced to fight, and kill, them in order to proceed on your quest. Rather than alphabetically, I've listed these in the chronological order that I first met them.

HEADS
A different decapitated, and usually mutilated, female head serves as your grotesque spiritual guide/advisor on each of the tower's ten levels.

LADIES
Lady Sword is a somewhat risque video game, in that you're rewarded with a topless or nude picture of a woman after you slay the boss monster of each floor of the tower. Click on any of the following images to see the uncensored version.
