Don't you hate it when your flesh keeps sliding over your eyes?

Domingo

Tentacular whack attack!!!

A secret, playable character in Climax Entertainment's 1992 Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention Sega Genesis tactical roleplaying video game [said title was later made available on the Sega Dreamcast, Personal Computer, Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii (as a selection on various Sega compilations or as downloadable content); it was also completely remade for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance in 2004, bearing the new moniker Shining Force: Resurrection of The Dark Dragon]. Exactly what manner of organism Domingo represents is the subject of some debate (the game's "magic creature" classification is rather vague). An intelligent, floating, air-breathing cnidarian or cephalopod of some sort? The world may never know . . .

To obtain Domingo, find the Domingo Egg in the mage town of Manarina in Chapter II (it's inside a weird-looking robot/armor thing in the laboratory), and then, in Chapter IV, after the battle with General Elliot, give it to the egg incubating fellow at the item shop in the traveling town of Pao. If you did everything correctly, Domingo will hatch and join the Shining Force.

Provided you put the time and effort into leveling the creature up, Domingo's capabilities, which include flight (the tentacled one simply floats over, and thus avoids, any terrain effect penalties on movement in the battlefield), magic [the fuzzy mage can learn freezing ice (up to Level 4 in power), confusion, instant death, and physical attack-boosting spells], and impressive stats, make it one of the most powerful/versatile characters in the entire game.

1 These are only Domingo's starting statistics--the values will increase as you fight battles, gain experience points, and move up in levels.
2 Flying characters are uninhibited by terrain. Forests, hills, etc., have no effect on Domingo's maneuverability on a battlefield.
3 Freeze inflicts ice damage on targets; higher levels increase the damage dealt, range, and number of enemies that can be targeted by the spell (multiple or single). Muddle may confuse the mind of a targeted enemy, which will likely result in it attacking its' comrades instead of you. Desoul instantly kills the targeted enemy, but the success rate of the spell is relatively low. Boost temporarily increases a friendly target's attack rating by +15. Lvl#, in parenthesis, is indicative of what experience level Domingo must reach in order to learn each spell.

Domingo's not very talkative, but, considering that its' entire vocabulary consists of repeating its own name, that's probably a good thing.
