Said title was also completely remade, with 3-dimensional polygon graphics, for the Nintendo DS in 2011 (<i>SaGa 3: Jikuu no Hasha - Shadow or Light</i>), but it's only available in Japan. The monsters Dragon Bone (D.Bone) and Dragon Fossil (D.Fossil) share the exact same game sprite but differ in power and combat capability. <br> <br> While a dragon's normal lifespan can extend through many centuries, they are not immortal, and so, like all living things, dragons must eventually succumb to the ravages of time and old age. Unfortunately, that which should lie dead and forgotten does not always remain so. Powerful dark forces have been known to reanimate these titanic reptiles with horrifying results. The sheer strength of these bony behemoths is terrifying (a single blow from claws, jaws, or tail can easily demolish a small building), but, even worse, a Dragon Fossil's numbing touch paralyzes, its petrifying breath can permanently transform anyone it touches into solid stone, and the necrotic powder that flakes off of its moldering bones is instantly fatal to any living thing that it falls upon. <br> <br> In addition to fighting these undead creatures, your characters can potentially transform into, and play as, a Dragon Bone or Dragon Fossil by consuming the meat that is sometimes left behind by defeated beasts/monsters after the conclusion of a battle. Becoming a Dragon Bone is possible at experience levels 19 and 20, and a Dragon Fossil at levels 25 and 26 (if you're at a higher, or lower, experience level, you'll become something different instead). The transformation is also dependent on the elemental affinity of the individual character (eating the flesh of a "fire" beast/monster will have a different effect on the evolution of an "air" character than it would on a "water" one), as well as what their current class is (robot, cyborg, human/mutant, beast, or monster--note that a character cannot advance to a monster form until they have first achieved beast status). Characters that become monsters cannot equip any weapons or armor (due to the often very unique anatomies of such creatures), but they can still cast all of the magic spells that they know. </p> <br> <br> <table border=2 width=95% cellpadding=5 align=center font color=white bordercolor=black bgcolor=gray> <tr> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Monster<br>Species</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Element<br>Affinity</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Hit<br>Points</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Magic<br>Points</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Attack</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Defense</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Agility</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Magic</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Evade</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Magic<br>Defense</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Magic<br>Evade</font></center> </td> <td bgcolor=black><center><font color=white>Talents</font></center> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center> <img src="http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/kramwartap/MAP2/SG3_d_bone_color.gif"> <br> <b>Dragon Bone<br>(D.Bone)</b></p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center><font color=red>Fire</font></p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>547</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>711</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>60</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>57</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>60</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>65</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>54</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>62</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>58</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center> Fire<br> Nail<br> Stone Gas<br> Tail<br> Tusk<br> X Powder<br> </p> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center> <img src="http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/kramwartap/MAP2/SG3_d_fossil_color.gif"> <br> <b>Dragon Fossil<br>(D.Fossil)</b></p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center><font color=red>Fire</font></p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>777</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>900</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>82</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>76</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>82</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>79</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>73</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>77</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center>70</p> </td> <td bgcolor=white> <p align=center> Numb<br> Stone Gas<br> Tail<br> Tusk<br> X Powder<br> </p> </td> </tr> </table> <br> <br> <p align=center><b><font size=+1 color=gray>Materials:</font></b> <br> Newsprint, white glue, wire twist ties, acrylic paint, and plastic (transparent bases only).</p> <p align=center><b><font size=+1 color=gray>Dimensions:</b></font> <br> Dragon Fossil (Enemy): 4.3 cm/1.7 in. x 5.6 cm/2.2 in. <i>(widest point x highest point)</i> <br> Dragon Fossil (Player Character): 1.9 cm/0.8 in. x 1.7 cm/0.7 in. <i>(widest point x highest point)</i></p> <p align=center><b><font size=+1 color=gray>Time:</font></b> <br> Three days: June 9-11, 2012.</p> <hr width=650 size=3 color=553f03> <p align=center><img src="http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/kramwartap/MAP2/SG3_d_fossil.jpg" border=3."></p> <hr width=650 size=3 color=553f03> <p align=center><img src="http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/kramwartap/MAP2/SG3_d_fossil_fab.jpg" border=3"></p> <hr width=650 size=3 color=553f03> <br> <center><b><i>For comparison purposes, below are some relevant images (more information on mouse-over):</b></i></center> <br> <center><img src="http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y196/kramwartap/MAP2/SG3_d_fossil_front.gif" align=center alt="Animated Dragon Bone/Fossil player character sprite, front view."> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
