Barrel Snail

Dear, would you pour me a bottle of snail?

Unusual gastropods that can be encountered in the Earth World region of From Software's 1998 Shadow Tower Playstation roleplaying video game. The monsters Barrel Snail and Cannon Snail share the same polygon game model but differ in color and combat capability. While these creatures are quite large, they're just as slow as the much smaller common snail, so it's a relatively simple matter to outmaneuver or avoid these titanic molluscs. However, lest one become too eager for a taste of monstrous escargot, keep in mind that the Barrel Snail can and will emit noxious clouds of poisonous gas from the end of its cylindrical shell to defend itself from anything that it perceives to be a threat.
