Beck 7th on dirt, again a hardcharger
For the second time in as many Walls' Roofing Clash for Cash races, Jason Beck started at the tail end of the field. However, it was also the second time Beck worked his way up through the field to earn the hard charger bonus.
The award is given to the driver who gains the most positions over the course of the race.
Jason struggled with his first appearance on dirt this year, but managed a 7th place finish in the 12-car field, a race once again won by hotshoe Keith Brame Jr. of Gibsonville. Beck now sits fifth in points, a mere two points out of fourth place in the standings. Beck trails Brame by 50 points.
The third race of the Clash season comes on May 9 at County Line Raceway in Elm City. However, you can catch all the RAM racing cars at Wake County Speedway for a regular season race on May 8.
Beck finishes 8th, wins hardcharger award
After starting at the tail end of a 17 car field, Jason Beck charged through the pack, at one time reaching the fifth place, before settling for an eighth place finish in the 2009 UCAR Clash season opener. Beck earned the hardcharger of the race award and an additional $50 bonus.
Beck to drive for Aliff Racing in 2009
Jason Beck, a 7-year racing veteran, was selected to drive the #5 Aliff Racing Toyota U-Car for the 2009 season. Team Owner Richard Aliff hopes to win the Walls' Roofing U-Car Clash for Cash Championship. The team could also compete in weekly races at Wake County Speedway in Raleigh, NC. Aliff is a long-time racer and purchased the Toyota Tercel he plans on campaigning from the McCaskill Racing team in late 2008. Beck, who has two career wins, started his career at Caraway Speedway racing for owner Darrin Free before fielding his own cars for the past three seasons. The U-Car Clash for Cash is a touring series featuring U-Cars from all over the Southeast. The series is the highest-paying and most prestigious stock four-cylinder class in the United States.
