The Jehovah's Witnesses (Russellites, Millennial Darwinists, names which they were referred to in the 1800s) are one of the largest cults in America today. They were founded in 1872, as an outgrowth of the International Bible Students Association in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by founder Charles Taze Russell. The Jehovah' Witness name or title did not appear until 1931, under successor Joseph Franklin Rutherford.

Jehovah's Witnesses are found in over 200 countries, and has a worldwide membership of over one million. There are more than 5,000 churches in the U.S.A. are called Kingdom Halls. Each member in the Kingdom Hall is accredited as a minister. Their semi-monthly "The Watchtower," has a circulation of over 4.5 million in more than 68 languages.
