  • Other Tournament Rules:
  • Tournament play will consist of qualifying round robin of minimum of 5 games (25 minute time limit) in groups of 6 teams. Top 16 teams will advance to championship bracket based on number of wins. 1st tiebreaker will be total marks scored and 2nd will be total marks scored against. Everybody else will go to the consolation.  (Due to number of entries: more teams could be advanced to championship bracket.)
  • Championship bracket will consist of a single elimination best 2 out of 3. (1 Hr time limit). If tied when time runs out finish hand to break tie.
  • Consolation bracket will either single elimination best 2 out of 3 or a double elimination bracket. Will be determined on number of entries.
  • Draw for first shake. High domino shakes the dominoes first. In 2 out of 3 play, losing team gets the shake and the last bid.
  • No talking across the table during the play of each hand. Talking allowed after someone has played all his dominoes.
  • No signs or signals to be used. Doing so brings about disqualification.
  • Dominoes must be played on the table without "pointing" (the manner in which you play your domino must not appear to be communicating your hand to your partner).
  • Dominoes will be placed on the table in a 4-3 or 3-4 configuration. Once set, they may not be moved except to play a domino in turn. Dominoes are set at the time of your bid.
  • Dominoes will be stacked on all. The most recent two tricks will be visible during the stacking process. On 1-mark or greater bids dominos are to be double stacked in the middle of the table with 8 dominos always showing face.
  • You may turn over dominoes and declare victory ("I have the rest") or a lay down. The same applies to having the high trump that will set the opponent. Your must prove your case and your opponent must agree before moving on to the next hand. Loss of hand will result if you do this in error.
  • Loss of hand results from the following:
  • Playing out of turn.
  • Failure to follow suit when you could have followed suit.
  • Exposing a domino that will not play when it is your turn to play.
  • Exposing any domino when it is not your turn.
  • Bumping the table or causing dominoes to fall over and be exposed.
  • Mistaken announcement of victory/lay down of dominoes or in claiming a set where dominoes are exposed (see rule above).
  • Picking up more than 7 dominoes and looking at them before a hand is played.
  • Visitors may watch the games, but they may not move around during the hand, nor be a distraction to the game.
  • First team to get 7 marks wins. Since there is a time limit, if neither team has 7 marks when the game-over timer ends the game, the hand is completed and the team with the most marks wins. If the score is tied, one additional hand is played for a winner.
  • If a team fails to be in place for a game five minutes after the starting timer, then the game is forfeited by the team with the missing member.
  • At the conclusion of the game, one player from each team will initial or sign the opponents score sheet.
  • Players may begin play of their next game before the official start time if all four players are ready to play (excluding the first game, which will start at the conclusion of the announcements). Games will run 25 minutes.
  • Bids starts at 30 and after 84 bidding will be in 42 increments. No force bidding. When bidding state your bid or pass only. NO BYE ME OR TAPPING THE TABLE.
  • Once bidding starts no talking or touching of dominos. If you touch a domino you must play it. If domino is exposed   before play begins re-shake. If domino is exposed during play it must stay on table face up and played on its first available play. Reneges, playing out of turn, not following suit, or talking during play will result in forfeiting the hand.
  • Failure to use the 3-4 or 4-3 domino setup at the start of the hand.
  • Deliberating cheating will not be allowed. Team will forfeit rest of games and asked to leave tournament.
