At todays meeting we went over the calendar as is listed below:

The proposed calendar is below. It shows a listing of meetings, service projects and activities by month.

Other things to be added as "decisions" are made by the group…
Opportunities for additional Service Projects: Star of Hope - Men's & Women's shelter. 6-10 people any Tuesday evening 5-7pm to help w/dinner; Service At Amigos por Vida… Saturday am tutoring or set up to run some basic merit badges (e.g. for FIRST aid). Other ideas: Tree planting; MD Anderson Childrens Art Project. If you have ideas about other service projects that you would like to pursue, please reply back to this email.
Additional campouts: close in backpacking trip in December or January @ Lake Houston Park (in NewCaney just north of Kingwood)

Fri, 10/27, Crew Service Project @ Stella Link YMCA. Halloween Carnival for kids. Help w/setup, activities and breakdown. More details at 10/24 meeting.
Sun, 10/29, Crew Service Project @ Magnificant House, Loaves & Fishes. Mass @ 11am. Serve & clean up lunch 11:30-12:45.
Tue, 10/31, Halloween. No typical Crew Mtg… May meet for an early dinner. Will discuss on 10/24

Fri/Sat, 11/10-11, Crew Activity, TCYC (Texas Corinthian Yacht Club). Sailing (big boat), fishing, hangin out. Leave ~ 6pm Friday. Return ~ 6pm Saturday.

Fri-Sun, 11/17-19, Troop Campout, Widen Ranch west of Austin. Do we want to attend? What can we do for the troop?
Program activities:
Backpacking trek--
"Wide Game" (large scale capture-the-flag)
Possibly first aid, orienteering, and other activities
Location: near Dripping Springs, west of Austin, approx 4 hrs from Houston
Transportation: the troop plans to charter a bus or vans.
Advanced sign-up and extra fee required for bus or vans.
Sat-Sun, 11/18-19. Venturing Crew or individual opportunity? There is also a Wilderness First Aid Certification @ Camp Strake being put on by VC 911 (it is a Red Cross Certification). Cost is $85/person & includes all training materials, lodging, meals & Camp Fees. Trying to get more information. Will send out a later email.
Fri-Sun, 11/17-19, Possible Crew Activity. Bodolus family is going to Aquarena Springs Scientific Diver Certification in San Marcos, Texas. $220pp. Check it out @ http://www.aquarena.txstate.edu/diving.html. To sign up, let Christopher Bodolus know to reserve room for your transportation (surfinguy360@aol.com) and sign up w/Tonya Merritt through Gigglin' Marlin Divers @ 2211 Richmond Ave (phone: 281-445-DIVE (3483)). If we have to take a second vehicle, extra kids causing the need for the extra vehicle will have to chip in for gasoline. You must have valid SCUBA certification to do this class. We will work out a split for the hotel room & you will need money for food & shopping @ San Marcos outlet on Sunday afternoon before driving home.

Meeting Minutes

There is a Troop 55 camp out this weekend at Pecan Park
- kayaking, canoeing
- fees and forms must have been turned in by tuesday 19th

Philmont
- 2nd and 3rd weeks in June
- if we take a co-ed Crew, we need a female adult leader
- Crew has 12 spots
- cut off for sign up and getting forms turned in to Mr. Cauble is next Wednesday the 27th

Weekly Meetings?
- emails will be sent out if many people cant go to the meeting

Ideas for Activities
- bowling
- Baskin Robbins or other restaurant
- ultimate frisbee

October 13th-15th
- scuba for beginners campout

No meeting next week b/c court of honor
John Stacy (Tom Stacys older brother) is getting his Eagle

We are currently researching skiing trips in new mexico and wyoming

Tuesday Oct. 3rd will be a "fun" meeting w/outdoor activities to get to know each other so make sure you have clothes on that you can move around in easily. We will talk breifly for about 10 min then play a game or do some type of activity. Everyone's goal is to bring 1 new friend!!!
