Note from TSBS President, Sadie Jackman

Hello, Button Lovers,
The October Texas State Button Society Workshop in San Antonio was a perfect reunion and gathering of old friends – and new acquaintances. We are very fortunate to have such talented hosts and creative members! It was well attended, beautifully co-ordinated and a wonderful opportunity to learn and share. We all appreciate the contributions and time donated by each member.

Collecting Buttons is a hobby of sharing and we all want to participate as fully as possible. Everyone should have the privilege of serving as an officer or other position and our election will be at the spring show. Our nominating committee is Shirley Thompson, Jackie Sears and Freda Knight. Please let them know if you are willing to accept a nomination.

I am happy to announce that Pam Luke of the Fort Worth Club has accepted the position of Bulletin Editor. It was with regret that we accepted the resignation of Ada Nell McComas. She was a creative asset but her health and family obligations necessitated retirement at this time. Pam needs your help and support in keeping current on your club activities. Please let her know of any changes that need to be posted.

The spring show and convention will be in Houston in March – please check all the details in the bulletin. The Space City Button Club will be our hosts and it will be exciting to be back in that area.

DATES: Friday, March 15, 2013, through Sunday, March 17, 2013.
PLACE: Park Inn by Radisson, 500 N. Sam Houston Parkway, Houston, TX 77060
Ask for the special rate for the Texas State Button Society 281-931-0101
There is a free shuttle to and from George Bush International Airport

Please support your local clubs and invite everyone you meet to join you. It’s a fascinating hobby and sharing is a big part of it.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Houston!
Sadie Jackman
