The Storm

Below are some pictures I took of the storm. We had yesterday (11/17/03).I have never seen anything like it before, besides on tv. When I told Dave it wasn't natural (and a woman who originally lived in Philly agreed with that), he said at least we don't have snow. Now, while I'll be the first to admit, I hate snow, I would take a PA winter any time. It's alot less damaging!!! We were fine, as you can see in the first picture. The water barely got to our driveway. Still, to walk out of the house and see a small river rushing past instead of the street is a shock to say the least.

This is just a shot of all the water right around the corner from the house. I still can't believe I was standing there with water to knees watching everything lol.

The poor van fought his way through some how. He did make it out, although I'm not sure how he managed to not flood his engine.

We spotted these two people trying to cross the intersection. They made it fine, but it was surreal to watch someone and see the water almost come up to their butt, lol.

Here is just a water pic. Can you imagine all that water??? Today it looks like it never happened. The streets are dry, and there are only little puddles left. It's just unbelievable to me.

Here is a picture of a truck pushing his way through. I don't know how smaller vehicles managed to get through, but they did. Some of them anyway.

The black truck there on the left is completely stalled. There wasn't even anyone inside. And yep that's a school bus you see. I don't know why they didn't close school early!

These here are some pictures I found on a houston news website ( www.click2houston.com) Places north of us got hit ALOT worse. There were ALOT of tornados going on, both north and south of us.
