Tim and I moved from Washington state. Tim said, "Irene, Texas is the place to be!" I asked, "What do we do when we get there?" So after much consideration...we planned on opening a campground.
BUT....it is not like any campground that you have ever stayed at. Our mission is to provide a friendly, simple working farm that visitors can stop by and relax. See Irene's collections of M & M's, Trolls, Smashed Pennies, Postcards, Antiques, Old Toys and Tim's Hat and Button collection. Irene is hoping to add some alpacas by next fall or early 2006.
We will be having a 18' x 4' swimming pool, complete with an alligator ......thermometer and a hot/cold tub depending on the day and temperature. We are building some outdoor games...have you ever played in a washer tournament? We have lots of old black and white movies, horror, westerns, old TV Shows and more...and will be working on a way to show them on a large screen outside.
We have fixed up a group picnic area with barbeques and a fireplace for roasting marshmallows. We have a little more cleaning up to do. Our goal is to have the campsite up and running by June 1, 2005. Will be using a portable toilet and one indoor shower until we get our bath house built.
If sleeping on the ground is not your thing, we do have a room to rent out, that includes a home cooked breakfast. Want a little more excitement? Rent a 16 or 14 foot teepee. They sleep from 4 to 6 adults.
We would be a great place for a small family reunion or for youth groups to have a group camping experience.
It is a simple place...so stop on by and do nothing but relax. This is the place you want to be.
